Ghost of Education Past

Remains of Riley
So they call it progress...tearing down a school to make room for another. This is my elementary school in Frankfort, IN...James Whitcomb Riley Elementary. I do no know exactly where the chimney ran in the school, but I'm guessing it was in the wall near the office...probably right next to Mr. Moore's office.
I hope that in the near(or distant) future, the city doesn't regret ridding the landscape of the eyesores of education past. I feel we are already a little less fortunate that this and other historic buildings are gone.

I hope you did too!

I have earned the right to complain if I decide it is necessary. I firmly believe that if you don't vote, don't complain, you don't have the right.
I Voted
So, did you....remember when I hear you complain, I will ask...if you did, complain; if not, shut the hell up!

Lessons Forgotten

Lessons Forgotten
Not sure if the new multi-million dollar schools are any better with educating than the old ones...my hometown just tore down my elementary school after consolidating two other schools into a brand new one. Now there is no identy for the Poets(or Kats or Archers). This follows on the heels of a previous consolidation that got rid of the Abes and Woodchucks...progress!
Personally, I believe that the teachers make the education, not the building. And how many successful citizens have come from the one room schoolhouses, how many have been lost in the megaschools?
This school is one of the former schools in the Kirklin, Indiana area.

Gas Prices....Come on Down

Apologies to the game show, but it appears as though there is no place for gasoline prices to go but up...maybe I am a doom-sayer or worse...

perhaps, I am correct

Happy Veterans Day

VFW Honor Guard
What would this country be without our military men and women? When President Woodrow Wilson established Armistice Day in 1919, he set aside November 12 as a day to honor Veterans of WWI. Later it was broadened to include all veterans. I salute anyone who has the heart to serve our country! THANK YOU for your service!
The above picture was taken in Frankfort, IN during the dedication of the Veteran's Memorial at the courthouse.

Leaves In Water

Leaves In Water
I call this one "Leaves In Water". Actually, my friend Tim had a picture very much like this and I sorta made fun of it by giving it that title. So as a tribute to Tim, this is the picture I took.
Adam's Mill is just outside of Cutler, IN. If you get a chance, you should go, it is really a cool place.

Cry Over Spilled Shots?

That is a good question...we aren't supposed to cry over spilled milk, what about shots?
Lemon Dropped

This is the first pic in the blog from your Crazy Picture Guy. It was taken at the Knickerbocker Saloon in Lafayette, Indiana. Ike(Kelley Isenhower) was performing...check him out if you get a chance!
